Maximum Consumption

Yesterday, Paula and I met up in Bonifacio High Street to "formally" introduce each other, talk about VCF and everything under the sun, and EAT. I have known Paula since we were in college but we've never really gotten the chance to talk to each other back then. But as God has planned it, a certain mishap has led to a new found great friend! So when I got home, I checked on her Instagram and geez, look at what my eyes are feasting! Almost all of her photos contain FOOD! She definitely has this great passion for food and she enjoys eating without ever getting fat! Haha!

The End Where I Begin

To be honest, I don’t know what I should be typing for this entry or why am I even making one. But one thing is certain; I have to express my feelings through writing.

Have you ever felt it? Butterflies that flutter in your stomach, lack of sleep only to wait for a text message, and suddenly smiling for no apparent reason? Well, I did. And these are just some of the things that paved way for me to fall in love.

Yes, I have been in love. I have felt that tremendous feeling of being treated as someone special and likewise. However, with love comes pain. It is inevitable. And with that fact, it should already be obvious that I have been hurt, too.

Three days ago, it was suppose to be the first anniversary of my then boyfriend. Except that things have changed for the both of us. We never made it on our first anniversary as a couple. It hurts, right? I’d like to believe that most couples would want their relationship to last forever but I did not get my fair share of a happy ending. Not now… not with him. I used to think that once I enter a relationship, I want it to be my first and last one but it definitely didn’t stay true with me. You see, that guy and I broke up a couple of months ago. At first, I was perfectly dealing well with the break-up but just as the day of the anniversary is coming nearer, I’m starting to feel the sadness that it has caused on me. They say grief occurs in five stages. First, there’s denial, followed by anger. Then bargaining, depression, and acceptance. But grief is a merciless master. Just when you think you’re free, you realize you never stood a chance. I have experienced all those five stage. And I must say, I was in denial for the longest time. Denying doesn’t mean that I cannot accept the truth that it was totally over BUT I think of it like the relationship itself never happened. Everything about the two of us was inexistent. Yes, I got angry and depressed, too, but only for a short time. Believe it or not, I never cried the months following the break-up, all because I was too strong (and like what I’ve said, in denial) to feel that burning desire of crying. But I know that one day, I will eventually cry. And I did. I cried because it has finally dawn on me. I am forced to face the truth. I now have to accept it.

All You Can Eat

After a tremendous week of training, one deserves to eat whatever food she likes, right? And I did just that! Aileen and I treated ourselves to a well deserved dinner and desserts after having a week long of accomplishing yoga. We felt the need to merit ourselves after doing well with our yoga classes and the best reward that a person wants is food. I know, I know. You might say that binge eating is contrary to our purpose of practising yoga but doing it once won't really hurt, right? Just so you know, a person cannot eat for at least two hours before starting yoga. So most of the time, Aileen and I come to our yoga classes with hungry stomachs and mind you, we keep on thinking of food while having yoga. But to our surprise, we do not get hungry after class. As for me, I only start starving after about four hours from the time that I have ended my yoga session. It is weird, isn't it? Anyway, it was Aileen who brought up the idea of eating after finishing a week of yoga. It was mainly because we don't have the time to bond over food after every class. We head directly to our work during the morning and as for the evening, we immediately go home. I believe that I have already given you enough explanation (or maybe excuses. Hahaha!) as to why we are pigging out!

So after seven days of working hard, we headed to Barcino in Greenbelt for a light dinner. It was Aileen who chose the restaurant because she hasn't eaten there. We only ordered appetizers as we plan on "focusing" with desserts. Here are some of the photos of the appetizers:

Bikram Yoga Manila

Last September, C32 (my college block) had a dinner in Greenbelt. From there, I had a long talk with my friend, Aileen. We mostly talked about how we can balance our social life, work, and healthy lifestyle. Our conversation led us in to trying yoga.

I went searching for good yoga places within the vicinity of Makati and The Fort and found Bikram Yoga Manila (www.bikramyogamanila.com). Bikram Yoga Manila is located in 15/F 88 Corporate Center, Valero St. cor. Sedeño St., Salcedo Village, Makati. Its proximity from our work has made us decide to try it and as luck have it, they're offering a special rate for beginners!

So what's the difference of bikram yoga from the other kinds of yoga? Bikram Yoga was founded by Bikram Choudhary in the late 1970s. It is a series of 26 postures including 2 breathing exercises that will run for exactly 90 minutes. Each posture stretches and strengthens the muscles, ligaments, and joints in the body. Aside from that, Bikram Yoga is done in a heated room with a temperature of 38°C. The heat helps to warm the muscles (which will burn fat easily), clears the circulatory system, improve the function of the nervous system, and promotes sweating which detoxifies the body.
